'Wings' Poem Poster

from £18.00
Ahead of my new book which will be available in a couple of months I wanted to create something a little special and came up with this poster design featuring one of my new poems 'Wings' and this photo I took in Brighton, UK.

The poem's a little dark and a little sad but also, hopefully, thoroughly inspirational. It takes inspiration from the story of Icarus and weaves in my own childhood experiences and relationship with my mother. It tells the story of a mother who, through fear, is constantly holding back her child not realising that sometimes we need failures to grow...

But what my mother never knew
Is that we should not fear the fall.
For, falling is a part of flying,
And failing doesn’t lead to dying,
Breaking is the path to growing,
And living means always knowing
That we will rise again.

I hope you love this piece and can find as much meaning and power in it as much as I have.
